Sunday we leave for Arkansas to see the fam for a whole week! We are totally stoked since we haven't seen them since our wedding. We love you, Patty's -- see you soon!

not-so-extreme makeover

We have decided to stay in this apartment for another school year -- so something needed to be done to spice it up a little bit! The house has great architectural style, but someone drown it out by painting everything white! Seeking to give the house it's full potential, I begged the landlords to let us paint! Since it isn't our own, the neutral 'tan' was decided upon. We just started with the living room/family room/office/dining room (which is all one room...you'll see!) Here's some photos before and after.

Aren't the 'sixties style' baseboards and trim around the windows cute? You couldn't even see them before. It adds so much warmth to our little place, and makes it feel a little more like a home. We love it! (and it doesn't look so yellow in person!) I want to do it in the small bedroom too, but the bed would have to be taken apart to reach the walls -- since it fits in so snug! We'll see.

Dear Box Elder Bugs:

You are officially UNwelcome in our home. We have already killed many of your brothers and sisters, and are not afraid to do it again. For your sake, stay out of our house completely. You belong in a better, more natural environment -- outside! There is nothing you need within our walls. We write this as a warning and a plea.

ready, set, camp!

Zach spent all his birthday money on camping stuff! We got new backpacking packs and a tent! We are ready to go! On his day off, Zach decided to check out the fishing spots up here in Cache Valley.

I am really bored with my background template. I really love it, but everyone changes theirs to be cute and different all the time. My fear, however, is that everything will get messed up. Any tips or helps? Is my template boring, or should I just leave it?

drum roll please....

WE PASSED!

Both Zach and I finally have our grades posted and we are just relieved it's over! There are no 4.0's to shout about, but our work paid off! I don't have another test, quiz, paper, or assignment for four whole months....whew!

pillow parade

In effort to spruce up my little apartment for spring, I found some cute pillows! So here's a short pillow parade!My mom bought me these flowery pillows from TJ Maxx. The coloring is weird from my ghetto camera...but they look perfect -- and bring a little blue into my green rut!

HOBBY LOBBY had their Grand Opening in Logan yesterday, and there were some crazy 50% of sales! This small, leafy pillow was only $7.50! I have been searching for something just like this to add to my boring bedding. It is tiny, and definitely needs some friends to make the bedroom complete, but it's a good start! I LOVE it!


(again, all the colors look off, but it actually does match! And yes, I did buy something green again. Sorry...bad habit.)

not the end

We had to say good-bye to Brooke White on Wednesday. I am so proud of her for making it to the top FIVE of American Idol this year! I know this isn't the end of Brooke...she has so much potential, and I can't wait until she comes out with an album! More than her talent, I am grateful for the person she is, and for being an example to everyone -- those on the show, and all the fans. Many comment on how "genuine" and "real" and "sweet" she is. I totally agree! I hope she can keep that innocence through all the fame and fortune. Good luck, Brooke!

summer and snow

It's official! Finals are over and summer break has officially started!!! woop woop!

As exciting as that is...the snow outside puts a small damper on the celebration. Gotta love Utah weather...ugh.
