...but this is a different one!

I can't bear to ignore when someone puts my name on a 'tag' game. I know you probably don't care to read another tag from me...but for those who DO (like my mom or someone...) here we go..

10 years ago... I was going to Fairfield Jr. High school and in the 7th grade. I was "going out with" Jace Welk. (I know...scary). Some of my friends were Marci Hartley, Stacy Brown, Amy Pasqua, Barb Henderson, Jess Moulton and Savannah Spackman. I was totally into "my hair" (okay..so that phase lasted a long time). I tried out for cheerleader and it was a total flop -- but I did manage to get into the splits during the tryout for some weird reason. My sister Adri helped me make up a cheer that I thought was TOTALLY awesome....but not good enough I guess. I remember Jess tried out too -- we were a joke!

5 things on my to-do list..
1. go do laundry at the laundromat and take Zach's suit to the dry cleaners
2. plan my lessons for Monday
3. scrub the bathroom
4. do the budget for next month
5. plan dinners for the next couple of weeks

snacks I enjoy
I love chocolate...let's face it....it's the best thing in the world in every form! I also am really into seven-layer dip (well, it doesn't have to be all seven) right now. I love tootsie rolls, starbursts, and skittles any time of day.

If I were suddenly a billionaire....
I would build my amazing dream house that I design with my cute architect brother on a big piece of land. I would buy Zach some horses and all the camping gear he could imagine. Then I would set up a foundation for children with disabilities in Ecuador. I think I would also invest a bunch in Wal-Mart stocks so I would keep getting more money. Then I think I would buy myself a green Range Rover and then put a bunch in bank accounts for my four future children.

3 bad habits
1. I pass gas way more often and way louder that just about every girl I have ever met. Yikes!
2. I get addicted to Freecell on the computer -- I know..the biggest waste of time.
3. I don't read my scriptures often enough. Or read anything often enough for that matter!

5 places I have lived
1. Layton, UT
2. Logan, UT
3. Provo, UT
4. Pomasqui, Eduador
5. Quito, Ecuador

5 jobs I've had
1. Facer at Bowman's (I bet you don't know what that is. Well, you know how all of the cans and boxes looks all straight on the shelves at the grocery store...well that's thanks to little people called FACERS!)
2. Checker and Customer Service Desk girl at Bowmans
3. Nanny
4. Server at Golden Corral
5. Teller at Wells Fargo Bank
6. Care taker for persons with disabilities in a group home

5 things people don't know about me.....
See my other blog post about this....

I tag....Marquessa, Suzy and Amy!

sushi - games - chocolate gravy

Zach and I had a fun time with his little brother Nate and girlfriend Sisi. They came up from Provo to spend the long weekend! We laughed so hard, played games, watched movies, went sledding, and ate sushi! Zach and I often go to a cute little sushi place in Smithfield, but since it was closed we had to settle for one in Logan. Usually we just get different kind of sushi rolls, but since Sisi (from Hong Kong) and Nate (recently returned from Taiwan) were with us, we got brave and tried the real deal! I should have taken some closer pictures, cause it really was beautiful food! We tried raw salmon, tuna, shrimp, fish eggs and snapper (?). My stomach felt a little queezy afterwards...but I think it was just all in my head -- knowing that there were raw things "swimming" around in there! I think we'll stick with the rolls from now on!

Then on Sunday morning we made the famous Patterson biscuits and chocolate gravy! It sounds gross, but truly it's delightful. If you want a taste, come visit us on a Saturday morning! I am telling you -- it is unbelievable! (I wish I had a better camera so you could get the real affect)

Thanks for the fun weekend, Nate and Sisi! Isn't family great?

tag, i’m it!

Rules of the game: Tell six things people might not know about me, then tag six of the pals I want to hear more about.

Here we go…

1. I have to eat sugar after every meal…a big brownie or a small hard candy. I have to end on a sweet note – no matter what!

2. I love watching game shows (Who Wants to Be a
Millionaire, 1 vs. 100, Deal or no Deal, Don’t Forget the Lyrics, Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader). For some reason I just like to see if I know the answers to the questions and if I could win…but pretty much I wouldn’t get past a few thousand dollars worth of knowledge.

3. I have a secret desire to be a seamstress. In Ecuador they have amazing women that can sew things from seeing a picture of it. How cool would that be to design and make your own clothes –what a dream!

4. I love cutting hair! I trim my own hair often (hence, I always have short hair and can never grow it out). Zach let’s me cut his hair, too. I wish I could formally learn how to cut hair without having to do all that other cosmetology stuff.

5. I have always been a thumb-sucker by night. It fades as I get older, but Zach still pulls my thumb out in the middle of the night sometimes. How embarrassing!

6. I love organizing!! It is therapeutic to me to clean out a cupboard or file papers away. I love helping others get organized as well. Just like my mom always taught me, “Everything has a home” meaning if you don’t have room for it, throw it out, and put things back where they go. Life is so much more calm when there is no clutter.

I tag… Lacey, Liz, Kim, Jess, Mom and Gaye

little surprise

Zach is the romantic type, you could say. He always has a way of putting little notes or surprises around for me -- and Valentine's has proven no different. Our schedules have been so opposite lately with work and school and it seems we never see each other. I had to work early this morning, and when I got home a few hours later, the house was clean, dishes were done, and Zach was off to school.... but he had left me a little surprise on the bed. How creative! (using old Christmas wrapping, and a lid as 'tray') I love you, Zach. Be my VALENTINE!

(p.s. He also bought DARK chocolate -- HIS favorite....I guess so I will share! He knows if it is milk chocolate he will blink and it will be gone!)

winter can be beautiful!

One of the beauties of winter is the icicles! The cute house we live in has created some HUGE ones this year. The longest one almost touches the ground! Here are some photos of our cute house at the bottom of Old Main.

This is the back. (We live in half of the upstairs)

I have totally loved this big winter! I think Heavenly Father waited until I got home to give us the big snowstorms because he knew I missed the snow while I was in Ecuador.
Happy winter!!

Six Months!

I love this kid more every day. I feel so blessed to have been married to Zach for six whole months! Marriage is bliss! I love you, babe.

(p.s. and doesn't this weather look yummy? wow...can't wait for spring!)

honor

What an honor to be a member of the church and to have lived during the time of beloved Gordon B. Hinckley. I am happy he is with his sweet Marjorie again, but I am selfishly missing him. I cannot wait for the day we will all have a chance to give him a big hug and thank him for his honorable, lifelong service. He never did anything for his benefit and gave all his 97 years of energy to the kingdom of God. I love you, President Hinckley!
