My mother always says, "Happiness is not having everything you want...it's wanting everything you have." I believe that and I want everything I have, and I am already happy... but my man Zach tells me that it's okay to dream! I read Marci’s Christmas wish list and was inspired to wish a little! Here is my Christmas WISH list this year! (in no particular order.)
1. Earth Brand Twilight boots.

2. A green Land Rover so I can go places like this!
3. Free Textbooks next semester!
4. A coat.
5. A facial treatment to get rid of the scars.
6. Warm, yummy slippers.
7. A condo.
8. A shaggy area rug. (but green!)
9. A new wardrobe!
10. A kitchen hutch.

What nice things you wish for! I think it's always a good idea to dream, then you work to make it happen (and find really good deals).
I don't remember the things much from mine and Jon's first Christmas. I definitely remember the 2nd Christmas because we went and returned most of the stuff we bought for each other. We also cancelled our voice mail service and bought a cheap answering machine. We trimmed back as far as we could so we could invest in some bigger things that we REALLY wanted. By February we had rented a piano so I could play and start teaching. Renting a piano was MUCH more expensive than the step aerobics set I returned, but in the long run it was better. My piano students eventually bought me the piano that I have today (from their lesson fees not by some elaborate gift - I wasn't THAT good of a teacher).
Being newlyweds at Christmas is magical in it's own way - whether you feel it now or later like I did.
Jaci, it's completely ok to be greedy sometimes. Especially when you're poor college students. But, it really brings you closer together as a couple to struggle for awhile. We won't be doing much for Christmas this year. Just being creative with our gifts. I do have a list though of what I REALLY want.;) We'll be flying into town next Tuesday. We need to get together while we're home. I miss you!
Cute boots, Jace! I wish for them for you, too! :) I think our first Christmas was the year I gave Chad a can opener (manual, mind you) and he gave me some other kitcheny gadget we'd failed to get at our wedding! :) So exciting!
